The poll has been up for a few weeks and there has been a clear cut winner from the very start. I am not sure if it is because everyone has Batman fever right now or because the rest of the choices could not compete with the Game of the Year but Batman: Arkham City takes the cake. When I started to design the cover I had a totally different idea until I began to brainstorm with Project Landmine author Sean Connelly I went a different direction. It has been argued that no Batman game has been playable until the Arkham series emerged in 2009. But going back to the days where the SNES reined as the top dog in videogames and Batman was played by Michael Keaton that is what brought real inspiration. Instead of using art and images from the newest game and making it look “retro” I went a different way.
